Stroke Management in 2018

Transient Ischemic Attacks (TIA) are a medical emergency and significantly increase the risk of stroke occurring in the following days. The assessment of TIA can be difficult as patients may be unaware of the significance of their symptoms. This education session will provide an update on TIA and Stroke and cover recent advancements in management for general practice.

Guest Speaker: Dr Darshan Shah, Stroke and Internal Medicine Physician, Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Audience: General Practitioners, Nurses and Allied Health Professionals

Learning Outcomes:

  • Know how to identify and manage TIA and stroke in general practice

  • Identify the “perfect” clot retrieval patient

  • Update on recent advances in hyper acute stroke medications

Presentation: 6:30pm
